PENGARUH EKSTRAK ALOE VERA SEBAGAI DENTURE CLEANSER TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN CANDIDA ALBICANS PADA BASIS GIGI TIRUAN NILON TERMOPLASTIK

Candida albicans is the most common fungus found in the oral cavity of healthy humans, Inhibiting the growth Candida albicans in the denture base can be done chemically by soaking using Aloe vera plant, Research determined whether there is an effect of soaking Aloe vera extract as denture cleaner on the growth of Candida albicans on thermoplastic nylon denture base. Laboratory experiment with post-test only control group design, this study used Aloe vera extract with concentrations of 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%, and sterile distilled water as controls. Data analysis for normality test used Shapiro Wilk, homogeneity test used Levene test, statistical test used Crustal Wallis followed by LSD post hoc test. Wallis crustal test showed that there was significant difference with significance value of p <0.05. There is an effect of Aloe vera extract as denture cleaner on the growth of Candida albicans on a thermoplastic nylon denture base.
