Abstract

This study aims to find out the evidence on the effectiveness of the mind mapping learning method in writing narrative texts for 5th grade elementary school students, in 2021/2022. The research method used in collecting data is the experimental method using the Noneequivalent Control Group Design research design. The subjects in this study were students in grades 5A and 5B from UPT SD Negeri 17 Gresik who had the same number of students, namely 23. The data collection technique in this study was using observation sheets and narrative text writing skills test sheets. Analysis of the data obtained, namely: (1) The results of writing narrative text skills prove that there is a difference after being given a test between the control class and the experimental class. It is proven by the results of the control class posttest score of 74.35. While the results of the experimental class posttest value of 88,04. (2) The hypothesis test in this study using the t-test Independent Sample Test obtained significant results, namely 0,000 < 0,005. So, it can be concluded that there is an effectiveness of the mind mapping learning method in writing narrative texts for grade 5 elementary school.
