PENGARUH REBUSAN AIR DAUN SALAM TERHADAP HIPERTENSI SISTOLIK PADA LANSIA AWAL DAN AKHIR DI KELURAHAN SUKAMANTRI KABUPATEN TANGERANG

Hypertension is a condition where the heart pump experiences an acceleration of systolic blood pressure exceeding 140 mmHg. The effects of hypertension include congestive heart failure, congenital heart failure and arrhythmias. The prevalence of hypertension in Tangerang Regency is 622,060 cases, most of which are women and in a preliminary study in Sukamantri Tangerang Village, there are 30 hypertensive patients with pharmacological treatment but have side effects. For this reason, complementary therapies for non-pharmacological treatment of bay leaf water decoction are carried out. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of boiled bay leaf water on reducing hypertension. The research design used quantitative methods with a pre-experimental approach using a one-group pretest posttest design. With the Total Sampling method with a total sample of 48 respondents. The research instrument uses observation and uses the normality test and the Wilcoxon test. The results showed that blood pressure after giving boiled water of bay leaves decreased from 2.102 to 1.320. The results of the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test have a p value = 0.001 meaning that there is a significant effect on reducing high blood pressure after being given boiled water of bay leaves. Bay leaf water decoction is effective in reducing high blood pressure in the elderly.
