HUBUNGAN KONSUMSI MINUMAN BERPEMANIS DENGAN OBESITAS PADA REMAJA

The World Health Organization (WHO) shows that about 2.3 billion adolescents aged 15 years and over are overweight, and more than 700 million of them are obese. Food and drink intake in adolescents can be one of the external factors that can play an important role in the occurrence of obesity. The purpose of this study is to review articles that discuss the Relationship between Consumption of Sweetened Drinks and Obesity in Adolescents. The research method is that the researcher uses the thematic analysis method: a simplified approach in analyzing. In searching for articles, the author uses the Google Scholar, Pubmed and e-Resources databases with inclusion criteria, namely using Indonesian and English, the respondents are teenagers, the article is the primary source and the time span of the article is 5 years (2016-2021). Based on the literature review, the results showed that there were several differences in the results found. there is a journal which states that there is no relationship between sugary drinks and obesity in adolescents, presumably because the consumption of sugary drinks is enough to increase energy intake, but does not exceed the needs and respondents tend to do sports. However, other journals state that there is a relationship between sugary drinks and obesity. This is because respondents do not carry out routine physical activities due to the density of lecture activities, lack of rest time, and also technological advances.
