The elderly who reach 60 and above are very vulnerable to the incidence of high blood pressure or hypertension. A person's blood pressure will increase with increasing age which results in an increase in systolic and diastolic blood pressure. High blood pressure in the elderly is associated with the onset of heart disease, kidney disease, stroke and other blood vessel diseases. Regular physical exercise is one of the efforts to help lower blood pressure in the elderly. An increase in blood pressure that lasts for a long time (persistent) can cause damage to the kidneys (kidney failure), heart (coronary heart disease) and brain (causing stroke) if not detected early and receive adequate treatment. Hypertension can cause various complications. Hypertension triggers the development of atherosclerotic plaques in the cerebral arteries and arterioles, which can lead to arterial occlusion, ischemic injury and stroke as a long-term complication. Objective of this research to analyze the effect of yoga exercise on lowering blood pressure in the elderly. Methods of this research through pre experimental pre test post test design. Purposive sampling with 27 respondents. From the results of the intervention to 27 respondents, the average value of pre-test and post-test was obtained with a P value of <0.05. There is a significant effect of the effect of yoga on reducing blood pressure in the elderly in Cikande Village.
